POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced UAE Tax Specialist with 3–4 years of relevant UAE taxation
experience to support the Group Tax and Compliance function of a diversified UAE-based group. The
ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax law, hands-on experience
with return preparation and the FTA (EmaraTax) portal, and basic knowledge of related party and
transfer pricing requirements.
The role covers multiple group entities and business units (BUs), and the candidate will also support
certain entities in other GCC states, managing their tax and compliance requirements in
coordination with external tax advisors. The candidate is expected to work independently with BU
finance teams, research and advise on tax queries, develop entity-level tax manuals and procedures,
support UAE e-invoicing implementation, and use AI to make tax processes more efficient and
reliable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
VAT Compliance and Review

  • Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns for group entities on EmaraTax in line with FTA

requirements and filing deadlines.

  • Perform VAT reconciliations (returns to trial balance, general ledger, revenue to declared

supplies, input VAT to ledgers) and resolve differences with BU finance teams.

  • Identify errors in filed returns, prepare evidence and defense files where required.
  • Prepare audit-ready evidence and tax defense files for each return period.
  • Manage VAT registration and deregistration of entities as required.

Corporate Tax Compliance

  • Handle UAE Corporate Tax registration/deregistration, compliance, and return filing for group

entities.

  • Design and send Corporate Tax data-request templates to BUs, review their submissions, and

prepare taxable income computations and adjustments.

  • Assess available reliefs, exemptions, and elections, and maintain supporting documentation

for each tax period.
Related Parties and Transfer Pricing

  • Apply basic knowledge of UAE related party and connected person rules, and maintain a

register of related party transactions across group entities.

  • Support the Transfer Pricing Disclosure Form and coordinate with advisors on transfer pricing

documentation.
UAE E-Invoicing Implementation

  • Support implementation of the UAE e-invoicing regime across group entities, including

onboarding with the Accredited Service Provider and ERP data readiness checks, in
coordination with BU finance and IT teams.

  • Help update invoicing processes and tax manuals for e-invoicing requirements.

FTA Portal (EmaraTax) Maintenance

  • Manage EmaraTax portal maintenance in-house for all group entities: trade licence renewals,

authorised signatory and contact details, and registration amendments.

  • Monitor portal notifications and flags, track penalties, and prepare reconsideration requests or

clarifications where appropriate.
Tax Manuals, Policies, and Procedures

  • Develop and maintain entity-specific tax manuals (VAT and Corporate Tax) covering each

entity’s business model, types of supplies, tax treatment, key risks, and internal controls.

  • Develop standard operating procedures that make tax data collection, review, reporting, and

planning more efficient and consistent across BUs.

  • Maintain the group’s annual tax compliance calendar and ensure all deadlines are met.

AI and Process Improvement

  • Develop and implement AI-enabled procedures for tasks such as VAT return review, invoice

review, reconciliations, and tax research, with documented steps and human review controls.

  • Build reusable templates, prompts, and tools, and identify further opportunities to automate

routine work.

  • Ensure use of AI follows the group’s data confidentiality and information security requirements.

Research and Advisory

  • Research and advise on VAT and Corporate Tax queries raised by BUs and management, and

issue clear written responses supported by references to the law, executive regulations, and
FTA guidance.

  • Advise on the tax implications of new business transactions, contracts, and restructurings, and

handle day-to-day operational tax queries.

  • Monitor changes in UAE tax law, FTA public clarifications, and GCC tax legislation, and circulate

concise update summaries to the Group Head of Tax and Compliance and relevant BUs.

  • Research, analyse, and document tax issues as they arise.

Coordination and Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate independently with BU finance teams on data requests, timelines, follow-ups, and

escalations, with minimal supervision.

  • Improve coordination with BUs through standard data-request templates, checklists and

regular touchpoints.

  • Work effectively with multicultural finance teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Manage engagements with external tax advisors across the UAE and GCC, including scope,

deliverables, timelines, and timely processing of their payments.

  • Prepare a weekly tax compliance status update and issues tracker for the Group Head of Tax

and Compliance.

  • Assist with tax audits, assessments, and FTA queries, and maintain tax records,

documentation, and supporting schedules.

  • Support other tax projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Group Head of Tax and

Compliance.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a relevant field.
  • 3–4 years of relevant UAE VAT and Corporate Tax experience.
  • Strong understanding of UAE VAT Law, Corporate Tax Law, and their executive regulations.
  • Practical experience with the EmaraTax portal, VAT returns, and Corporate Tax filings.
  • Basic knowledge of related party and transfer pricing requirements in the UAE.
  • Knowledge of UAE tax compliance procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort with ERP systems and large data sets.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and an interest in using them to improve tax processes.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple entities and deadlines, and follow up with

stakeholders proactively.

  • Strong analytical, research, written communication, and problem-solving skills.
