About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Manager – Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) to lead and independently manage the Enterprise Risk Management function for a leading organization operating across the retail and real estate sectors. This role requires a hands-on risk professional with strong technical expertise in ERM, proven leadership experience, and the ability to engage effectively with executive management, governance committees, and Board members.
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, enhancing, and overseeing the organization's ERM framework while ensuring that key risks are identified, assessed, monitored, and reported in line with business objectives and governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Risk Management
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the Enterprise Risk Management framework, policies, procedures, and methodologies.
- Establish and maintain a robust risk governance structure aligned with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
- Drive enterprise-wide risk identification, assessment, evaluation, and mitigation activities across business functions.
- Ensure risks are adequately monitored and managed through effective controls and action plans.
Risk Assessment & Monitoring
- Facilitate comprehensive enterprise-wide risk assessments and workshops.
- Maintain and oversee corporate risk registers, ensuring timely updates and reporting.
- Monitor emerging risks, key risk indicators (KRIs), and risk trends affecting the organization.
- Evaluate strategic, operational, financial, compliance, and reputational risks.
Governance & Reporting
- Prepare high-quality risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for executive management, Audit Committees, Risk Committees, and the Board of Directors.
- Provide insights and recommendations on risk exposure and mitigation strategies.
- Support governance committees with risk-related analysis and decision-making information.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on risk management matters.
- Build strong relationships with business leaders to embed a risk-aware culture across the organization.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit, Compliance, Finance, Legal, and operational teams to strengthen risk management practices.
Continuous Improvement
- Promote risk awareness and risk management best practices throughout the organization.
- Benchmark ERM practices against industry standards and regulatory expectations.
- Drive initiatives to enhance risk management maturity and effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as CRMA, CRM, FRM, CIA, CISA, CFA, or equivalent are preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years of professional experience, including significant experience within Enterprise Risk Management.
- Proven experience independently leading or managing an ERM function.
- Experience in Retail, Real Estate, Conglomerates, or Large Corporate Organizations is highly preferred.
- Prior experience with a Big 4 firm's Risk Advisory practice combined with in-house ERM experience is advantageous.
