Assistant Manager - Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS)

About the role

The Assistant Manager - FAAS will support and manage IFRS advisory assignments under the supervision of the Director. The role requires sound IFRS knowledge, strong technical writing, effective client coordination and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the day-to-day contact for assigned clients, coordinate meetings and information requests, and provide regular progress updates.
  • Understand client transactions and contracts, research the relevant IFRS requirements, and prepare technical position papers for senior review.
  • Prepare and review IFRS reports, accounting policies, workings, journal entries, disclosures and presentations.
  • Support clients in responding to external-auditor queries and participate in technical discussions with auditors and finance teams.
  • Manage assigned workstreams, timelines and junior team members, and escalate significant technical or client matters to the Director.
  • Prepare and deliver IFRS training sessions and technical briefings for clients and internal teams.

Technical experience
Practical experience is required in several of the following areas:

  • IFRIC 12 service concession arrangements; IFRS 9 classification, ECL, modifications and hedge accounting.
  • IFRS 15 revenue recognition and contract assessment; IFRS 18 impact assessment, presentation, subtotals and MPMs.
  • Exposure to IFRS 3/PPA, IFRS 10, IFRS 13, IFRS 16, IAS 36 and financial statement disclosures is desirable.

Qualifications and experience

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or ACCA; an IFRS certification is an advantage.
  • Approximately 4-6 years of relevant experience in IFRS advisory, audit, technical accounting or financial reporting.
  • Professional services or technical accounting experience, including preparation of IFRS papers and client-ready reports.
  • Based in Lahore and able to work with GCC clients during UAE/KSA business hours.

Required skills

  • Good written and spoken English, with confident client communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong IFRS research, analytical and report-writing capabilities.
  • Ability to explain technical accounting matters clearly and manage multiple deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned matters while seeking guidance on complex or judgemental issues.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
